Liz Collinge: Make Up Looks We Love for Spring/Summer 2018

It’s definitely time for a make up spring clean this season as the looks from the catwalk are fresh and very different.

Starting with skin – follow your natural complexion and opt for pale and polished, golden and glowing, or bedazzling bronze. Ditch the heavy contouring of winter and instead be happy in your own skin. It should be perfectly prepped with some shine on the upper cheekbones.

A rosy blush looks new and chic too. Go for subtle flush on the apples of the cheeks or high at the outer top of the cheekbones and blending inwards to the eyelids. This is such a flattering look.

Equally exciting are the pastel shades for eyelids. Lilac is a perfect choice to compliment the summer pastels and a new trend for green eyeshadow from mint to jade to sea green is lovely with brown eyes. Use colour along the top lash line to try it out. For a stronger look try all over the lid and slightly extended at the outer corners. I loved the 90’s inspired electric colours too. Eye colour looks cool when paired with a really soft matt pink lip.

Dior – HarpersBAZAARUK

One of my favourite looks from the catwalk was by Peter Phillips for Dior. The lashes were fully loaded with mascara top and bottom and then pinched between the fingers for a clumpy effect. This really opens up the eyes making them bright and sparkly.

Max Mara – HarpersBAZAARUK

Of course there’s always a bright lip option too. This season is no exception with a lot of fabulous bright pinks to choose from, Riviera inspired orange or the classic orange red.

I loved the combination of super white glossy skin, bright red lips with no other colour at Max Mara – it is stunning.
