How to Get (and Keep) Perfect Holiday Hair–a blog by Andrew Collinge

Want a simple holiday styling tip to create soft casual waves for medium length to longer hair? At the end of a hot summers day take advantage of the evening heat by twisting freshly cleansed towel dried hair into pleat. To do this gather your hair into the nape and place it over the palm of your left hand. With the right hand twist the hair upwards towards and towards the crown. Work all the ends of the hair into the pleat and secure with a large pin or hair clamp. Now relax and enjoy the end of the sun’s rays whilst your hair dries. Once dry, release your hair from the pleat to achieve a fabulous casual look.

Unfortunately–while on holiday–sun, sea and chlorine all have an adverse effect on the hair but with some good hair care products and by following my tips you can avoid having a holiday hair disaster.

Before you go away it’s a good idea to trim away any split ends, which can be prone to further damage in the heat. To ensure your hair is in tip top condition before you travel apply a few conditioning treatments. A treatment will enrich your hair and will help restore lost moisture. To ensure your hair looks its absolute best on your holidays invest in some great products, which will protect the colour and also nourish the hair. CO by Andrew Collinge Hair Moisturiser (£12.50)  is the perfect product to rehydrate hair throughout hot sunny days. Simply spritz in and leave. Hair Moistuiser with its Argan Oil additives is also ideal when blow drying or using straighteners as it will protect the hair and encourage a frizz free finish and a longer lasting style when coping with humidity.

Summer is the perfect time to have a Keratin straightening treatment. It will provide extreme moisturisation for your hair and make it manageable, not only for your holiday but for many weeks afterwards. It is well worth the investment and you will be amazed by the results. In Andrew Collinge salons we use Nano Keratin smoothing system. Call in to any Andrew Collinge Salon for a consultation (prices from £150).
