We asked blogger Emily Clare of emilyclarebeauty to tell us a bit about herself. Here’s what she had to say:
What are you loving at the moment about Instagram? I am loving finding myself and the way I like to post my photos. Since I have started blogging I have always compare my images to others, tested different themes and ways to edit photos, however I have recently stopped all that. Something just clicked and I realised what content I want to be creating and I am loving exploring that!
What does your morning hair routine look like? My morning hair routine changes dependent on when hair washing day is. For example, this morning was hair wash day so I washed it using a strong silver shampoo and conditioner, and I then toned it as I had some more brassy shades coming through. Then I towel dried it before adding argan oil and anti frizz serum. Then I used the CO by Andrew Collinge Hair Moisturise (which smells Devine) before blow drying it. I wanted a few waves today so I put it in plaits and then straightened the plaits. If I wasn’t washing my hair I would just brush it, add some heat protectant and then straighten it.
What is your favourite hairstyle? I absolutely adore a blunt bob with soft curls or soft waves. But I can never get that perfect wave or curl so I do love the classic sleek straight look.
What (or who) inspires you? I am inspired by sooo many people. My biggest inspirations in blogging are Poppy Deyes and Hannah Gale. I just find myself reaching to their Instagrams and reading their blogs. They are very similar to me in fashion sense and humour so I find it easy to stalk them with a cup of coffee in the mornings. Plus they both have hair goals.
What was the most cringe hairstyle you’ve ever had? I think when I was 11/12 I had the ‘back to school’ hair cut but I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WAS THINKING. I literally went for mass layers in my hair. I have really thick hair anyway so the layers just didn’t sit right and combined with the horrific side parting – I looked like a boy.
Is there anything you’d love to do to your hair but are a bit afraid of? This is a little tricky. I always would have said go platinum or silver, but I have now done that. Part of me would like to go back dark but I have spent a lot of time and effort (and money) on getting my hair white/blonde so I think I would be too afraid to do that.
If you had to pick a life motto, what would it be? I have a necklace that says ‘When You Can’t See The Sunshine Be The Sunshine’. Whenever I have a bad day or something I can just look down and see that. I think that it has so many different meanings so it would be that.
Anything else we should know about you? That I have a lifestyle and fashion blog over at www.emilyclarebeauty.com 😉 Haha! Or that I am a coffee addict who knows!!
